The £32m redevelopment of the ground includes the development of The Point (the Club’s £12m conference and events centre) and the redevelopment of the Pavilion. AMION has been a key partner throughout the development and produced the business case and business plan which underpinned the development.
The development proposals were business plan-led from the outset of the project to ensure that the proposals were affordable and would support the Club’s longer term cricket ambitions and commercial success.
AMION worked with the Club to develop the business case, establish a strong cricket case, develop a financial model including a cross subsidy from an adjacent Tesco’s development, provide supporting evidence for the successful planning application and provide ongoing financial support and advice on all aspects of the developing project.
Update:
The Point opened to time and to budget and is a successful business in its own right hosting major events and conferences. The Pavilion is due to open in 2013 in time for The Ashes Tour which is returning to the Ground. The redevelopment of the Emirates Old Trafford Ground has secured the Club’s short to medium term future due to the commercial success of the facilities and the return of Test Matches after a short absence. The strong financial and commercial advice which underpinned this development and the fact that these facilities were delivered to time and to budget have played a major factor in the ongoing success of the Club.
