We were appointed by Warwick District Council (WDC) to prepare a £13m Levelling Up Fund (LUF) bid for a range of integrated transport and environmental improvements to the Bath Street area in Leamington’s Old Town, which is one of the poorest air quality hotspots in the country. The proposals enable the removal of through traffic from Bath Street to make this a bus only route, with new cycle infrastructure and improved pedestrian environment.
AMION led the LUF submission, which involved working closely with WDC, Warwickshire County Council and a number of technical consultants to ensure that the bid demonstrated that it had a strong strategic fit, provides value for money and is deliverable. As a part of our role, we carried out an economic appraisal in line with DfT Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG), which included the monetisation of highway, active travel, public transport and environmental impacts.
