We have extensive experience in providing assistance in securing funding support for projects and programmes which contribute to regeneration and growth. In terms of UK funding, this has included sub-regional funds – including Growth Deal – as well as specific national programmes such as the Regional Growth Fund and Coastal Communities Fund, and support through Government agencies such as the HLF. In relation to European funding, we have successfully provided support in relation to ERDF and ESF, and also engaged with RDPE programmes. Our knowledge extends to European inter-regional programmes such as the North West Europe programme, and also Europe-wide programmes such as Horizon 2020.
In addition to ‘core’ UK funds and the structural and wider European funds, we have engaged with loan funds supported by the public sector including the North West Fund, of which Tim Johnston was an independent board member. We are also able to provide advice in relation to support through the use of prudential borrowing, and Section 106 and CIL, together with opportunities via rate retention powers. Our knowledge also extends to tax relief opportunities such as support available within Enterprise Zones.
The assistance that we are able to provide extends to associated financial issues – for example, with regard to general advice relating to the implications of State aid and advice with regard to ‘Article 61’ statements in respect of revenue-generating projects.
